About Me

Hi! My name is Briana, and I’m an avid reader, library lover, and current PhD student in Religion at Duke. I’m from Kailua, Hawaiʻi and am constantly homesick after several years at school on the mainland. During the school year, when I’m not struggling to read/translate obscure Christian writing or otherwise working, you can find me hiking, playing ultimate frisbee, singing (off-tune).

I have an MDiv and certificate in Jewish-Christian Relations from Princeton Theological Seminary, and am very happy to have left the cold northeast for the much more reasonably-temperature South. North Carolina might not be Hawaiʻi, but at least there is no snowmaggedon.

In addition to studying and writing, I work as a Spiritual Director and teacher.

During the summer you can find me traveling. To date, I have visited 24 countries and 23 US states – and I can’t wait to see more! This is a map of my travels through August 2023 😊
